Management Team
Kevin Hykes – President and CEO - Kevin Hykes is the President and CEO of Cameron Health, Inc., a venture-backed company developing a novel subcutaneous implantable defibrillator for the treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Prior to joining Cameron Health, Kevin was the Chief Commercial Officer of Visiogen, Inc., a venture-backed startup based in Irvine, CA which was acquired by Abbott Laboratories in October of 2009. At Visiogen, Kevin was responsible for developing the global commercialization strategy for the Synchrony Accommodating Intraocular Lens and the establishment of the company's European operations.
Prior to joining Visiogen, Kevin spent 16 years at Medtronic, where he held significant leadership positions in the Heart Valve, Cardiac Surgery, Neurological, and Cardiac Rhythm Management businesses in both the U.S. and Europe. In addition, he served as Vice President of Medtronic’s Healthcare Systems organization, reporting to the chief executive officer and sitting on both the operating and management committees of the company. Before joining Medtronic, Kevin spent three years as a consultant with Andersen Consulting in their Chicago office. Kevin received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin. Kevin serves as an independent director of Hansen Medical, Inc (HNSN).
Mitch C. Hill – Vice President and Chief Financial Officer - Prior to joining Cameron, Mitch Hill served as CFO of Visiogen Inc., a venture capital-backed medical device company focused on the cataract replacement lens market. Visiogen was acquired by Abbott Medical Optics in 2009. Mitch has had senior executive experience with a number of private equity and venture capital-backed companies including as Executive Vice President and CFO of Insight Health Services Holdings Corp., a U.S. based provider of diagnostic imaging services, and as President and CEO or CFO of two different venture-backed, healthcare services businesses: BMS Reimbursement Management and WorkWell Systems, Inc. Mitch was also President and CFO of Buy.Com, Inc., and helped lead its initial public offering in February 2000. During the 1990s, Mitch served as the CFO of Walt Disney Imagineering and as CFO of The Disney Development Company. Prior to his Disney days, Mitch worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. Mitch received a BS in Business Accounting from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Richard Sanders – Vice President, Scientific Affairs- Richard Sanders has over 30 years of leadership experience in the CRM Industry beginning his career with Medtronic, Inc. Prior to his tenure at Cameron Health, Richard held several executive management positions at Guidant Corporation Cardiac Rhythm Management Business, including VP of Global Marketing and VP of Research. He also held various executive positions with Intermedics, Inc. before it was acquired by Guidant. Richard earned his Master’s degree from University of Miami in Biomedical Engineering and received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He has coauthored numerous book chapters and journal articles in the CRM field. He served on the Board of Medical Alley and is an Associate member of the Heart Rhythm Society.
Ward Dykstra – Vice President, Commercial Operations - Ward Dykstra comes to Cameron Health with over 20 years of diverse leadership experience in the cardiology market. Since 1998, Ward held a number of senior leadership positions in marketing, sales, training, and development and medical affairs at Johnson & Johnson companies, Cordis Corporation, and Centocor, Inc. Most recently, he served as Director of Global Strategic Marketing for Cordis and spent two years in Japan as the Director of Marketing for the company's interventional cardiology business. Ward received numerous leadership awards while at Johnson & Johnson for his accomplishments in marketing, organizational development, and new product launches. Ward received a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin.
Pierre Chauvineau – General Manager, International - Pierre Chauvineau has been appointed as the company’s Vice President and General Manager, International in October 2010. Pierre joins Cameron Health from Medtronic, Inc., where he spent 20 years commercializing pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) in Europe. Pierre has held a number of senior sales management and marketing positions in Cardiac Rhythm Management for Medtronic France, Medtronic UK & Ireland, and Medtronic Europe since joining the company in 1991. Most recently, he was Regional Business Director for Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management business in the UK and Ireland, where he also served as the chair of the heart rhythm industry group with the Association of British Healthcare Industries. Pierre graduated from the Institute de Preparation a l’Administration et a la Gestion in Paris, France, and holds an MBA in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, Monterey, California.
Jon Hunt, PhD – Vice President, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs – Dr. Jon Hunt has been in the medical business for 22 years in various capacities ranging from basic scientific research to sales and marketing. Jon joined Cameron Health, Inc. in May 2002 after spending the previous 10 years with Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc., St. Jude Medical and Cardiac Pathways Corporation. Jon began his career with Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc. (now Guidant Corporation) as the Director of Clinical Programs; he subsequently held positions in St. Jude Medical in Clinical Affairs and as the Business Unit Director for the Cardiac Rhythm Management division for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. At Cardiac Pathways Corporation, Jon held various executive positions as Vice President of International Sales and Marketing and Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. He received his PhD in Motor Control from The Pennsylvania State University, his Master’s from California State University, Long Beach and his undergraduate degree from Keele University in the United Kingdom.
David Hackbarth – Vice President, Operations - David Hackbarth has 29 years leadership experience in Operations Management in the medical device industry. David started his career with 13 years at Guidant CRM where his final assignment was Engineering Manager for the startup of Guidant’s Puerto Rico operations. As Director of Manufacturing Engineering, David established the Manufacturing Operations for the Implantable Atrial Defibrillator at InControl. In San Diego, as Vice President of Operations at CryoGen, Inc. he successfully established manufacturing operations, and passed ISO and FDA GMP inspections. Most recently as Vice President of Operations, he established manufacturing operations and passed ISO inspections for CryoCor, Inc. Currently David is assisting Cameron Health in the establishment of its operations. David’s educational background includes a BS from the University of Wisconsin and a Management Certificate from the University of Washington.
Todd Kerkow – Vice President, Product Development - Todd Kerkow has 14 years of experience in the medical device industry in various engineering and leadership positions where he has continually helped deliver successful products to the marketplace. Todd began his career at Guidant where he held positions as a mechanical design engineer on the Mini II, Mini III, and Mini IV defibrillators; manufacturing process development engineer on the Prizm and Prizm II defibrillators; test fixture group supervisor for both the pacemaker and defibrillator manufacturing lines; manufacturing process development manager for the Teligen and Cognis defibrillators; leads product development manager for the Acuity Spiral LV lead; and MRI-safe device product development manager. Since joining Cameron Health in 2006, he has held the positions of Director of Mechanical Engineering, Director of Implant Hardware, and Vice President of Product Development.
Sean P. McGeehan – Vice President, Legal and Registered In-House Counsel – Sean McGeehan has provided legal services in various capacities to medical device companies for 14 years. Sean joined Cameron Health, Inc. in April 2002 after spending time at both small (Crompton, Seager and Tufte LLC) and large law firms (Brobeck, Phleger and Harrison LLP). Sean received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and holds other technical degrees from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology and Ohio State University.
Ryan Majkrzak – Vice President, Quality Systems – Ryan Majkrzak was appointed as Cameron Health’s Vice President of Quality Systems in March 2011. During his previous seven years at the company, he served as Director of Operations and Manager of Operations. In these positions, he was responsible for the development, validation, and production ramp of the company’s manufacturing operations. Prior to joining Cameron Health, Ryan held leadership positions at Guidant Corporation. Most recently, as Group Leader in Supplier Development, he oversaw the wire supply chain for the Cardiac Rhythm Management business unit. He earlier served as Manufacturing Supervisor for the company’s implantable defibrillator assembly line in Ireland and began his career at Guidant as a Manufacturing Engineer. Ryan holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
