Warren S. Watson – Executive Chairman – Director since 2010, Warren Watson is currently serving as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for Cameron Health, Inc.

Mr. Watson joins Cameron Health following 33 years of Cardiac Rhythm Management experience at Medtronic, Inc., including significant technical and commercial leadership roles.  Mr. Watson spent eight years as the Vice President of Research and Development for Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management business as well as leading Medtronic’s Corporate R&D Council.  Prior to that role, Mr. Watson served as General Manager of multiple Medtronic businesses and was the first Vice President of Marketing for Medtronic’s Tachyarrhythmia Business.

Mr. Watson serves on the Board of Directors for Cardia Access, Inc., Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, Citizens Independent Bank of St. Louis Park and Kinship of Greater Minneapolis.  He previously served on the Board of Directors of CardioMems, Inc., Excigen, Inc., Endocardial Solutions, Inc., Survivalink, Inc. and the Continua Consortium.

Kevin Hykes – Cameron Health Director since 2010, Kevin Hykes is the President and CEO of Cameron Health, Inc.

Prior to joining Cameron Health, Mr. Hykes was the Chief Commercial Officer of Visiogen, Inc., a venture-backed startup based in Irvine, CA, which was acquired by Abbott Laboratories in October of 2009.  At Visiogen, Mr. Hykes was responsible for developing the global commercialization strategy for the Synchrony Accommodating Intraocular Lens and the establishment of the company's European operations. 

Before joining Visiogen, Mr. Hykes spent 16 years at Medtronic, Inc., where he held significant leadership positions in the Cardiac Rhythm Management, Neurological, Cardiac Surgery and Heart Valve businesses in both the United States and Europe.  In addition, Mr. Hykes served as Vice President of Medtronic’s Healthcare Systems organization, reporting to the chief executive officer and sitting on both the operating and management committees of the company.  Prior to joining Medtronic, Mr. Hykes spent three years as a consultant with Andersen Consulting in their Chicago office.  Mr. Hykes serves as an independent director of Hansen Medical, Inc.

Rick Anderson – PTV Sciences – Director since 2008, Rick Anderson is Managing Director at PTV Sciences, a healthcare venture capital and growth equity firm.

Mr. Anderson was formerly Company Group Chairman at Johnson & Johnson, and Worldwide Franchise Chairman at Cordis Corporation.  In addition, he served as President of Cordis Corporation and was previously Worldwide Franchise Vice President of Centocor, Inc., which merged with Johnson & Johnson in 1999.  Mr. Anderson was a key architect behind the launch of the world’s first drug-eluting stent, the CYPHER® Sirolimus-eluting Coronary Stent.  He has also served in senior leadership positions with other international healthcare and medical device companies including Racal HealthCare, Inc., Allergan, Inc.  and Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Anderson is a member of the Economic Advisory Board of Mississippi State University and a consultant member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.  Additionally, Mr. Anderson is on the board of Tryton Medical, Inc. and acts as Chairman of the Board for Cardiva Medical, Inc. and IDEV Technologies, Inc.

David Douglass – Delphi Ventures – Director since 2002, David Douglass is a General Partner at Delphi Ventures, a venture capital firm that focuses on early stage investing in medical devices and biotechnology.

Since 1979, Mr. Douglass has been actively involved in managing and investing in over 60 high growth venture capital backed companies.  Prior to joining Delphi, Mr. Douglass was a General Partner at Matrix Partners.  From 1984 to 1986, he served at Paladin Software, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer.  In 1979, Mr. Douglass joined Collagen Corporation, where he served as Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer.  Before joining Collagen, Mr. Douglass was a consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Douglass is a member of the National Venture Capital Association Board of Directors and has served as Chairman of their Medical Industry Group.   Mr. Douglass has also served as a director of the Western Association of Venture Capital and the Stanford University Athletic Board, and as a member of the Stanford University School of Education Advisory Board.

William T. Harrington, M.D. – Three Arch Partners – Director since 2005, Dr. Harrington is a Partner at Three Arch Partners, focusing on medical device investing.

Prior to joining Three Arch in 1999, Dr. Harrington was a practicing interventional radiologist, maintaining an academic appointment at the University of California, San Francisco.  In addition to a private practice in the Bay Area, Dr. Harrington has broad and firsthand experience with a wide variety of medical devices, minimally invasive surgical procedures and clinical trials.

Dr. Harrington has sat on the boards of a number of successful medical device companies, including, Opus Medical, Inc., Vascular Control Systems, Inc. and Reliant Technologies, Inc.  He serves or has served on the boards of Baxano, Inc., Nevro Corp., Respicardia, Inc., Spinal Motion, Inc., Voyage Medical, Inc. and Centerre. Dr. Harrington serves as an advisor to the UCSF/Berkeley Venture Innovation Program, is on the Advisory Board for the IBF/Medtech Conference and is a member of the Therapeutic Advisory Council at Harvard Medical School.

Paul LaViolette – SV Life Sciences Director since 2009, Paul LaViolette is a Partner at SV Life Sciences Advisers LLP, a leading international life sciences venture capital firm.

Mr. LaViolette has over 28 years of global medical technology marketing and general management experience. Prior to SV Life Sciences, Mr. LaViolette was Chief Operating Officer at Boston Scientific Corporation.  During his tenure, Mr. LaViolette also served as Group President, President-Cardiology and President-International as the company grew revenues over 20 times.   He integrated two dozen acquisitions and led extensive product development, operations and worldwide commercial organizations.  Mr. LaViolette previously held marketing and general management positions at CR Bard, Inc., and various marketing roles at Kendall (Tyco).

Mr. LaViolette currently serves on the boards of Conceptus, Inc., DC Devices, Inc., Direct Flow Medical, Inc., DJO Global, Thoratec Corp., Trans1, Inc., ValenTx, Inc., TransEnterix, Inc., CardioFocus, Inc. and the Medical Device Manufacturers Association.  Previously, Mr. LaViolette served on the boards of Percutaneous Valve Technologies, Inc., Urologix, Inc., AdvaMed, and the New England Health Care Institute.

William J. Link, Ph.D. – Versant Ventures – Director since 2001, William J. Link, Ph.D. is a Managing Director at Versant Ventures, a leading healthcare-focused venture capital firm.

Dr. Link specializes in early-stage investing in medical devices at Versant.  Prior to cofounding Versant Ventures, he was a general partner at Brentwood Venture Capital.  With extensive knowledge of medical devices, his operating experience spans more than 23 years in general management in the healthcare industry.  

Dr. Link served as founder, chairman, and CEO of Chiron Vision, a subsidiary of Chiron Corporation, specializing in ophthalmic surgical products, which was sold to Bausch & Lomb in 1997.  Prior to Chiron Vision, Dr. Link founded and served as President of American Medical Optics, Inc., a division of American Hospital Supply Corporation.  Later, he served on the Board of AMO's successor company, Advanced Medical Optics. AMO was acquired by Abbott in 2009.  Before entering the healthcare industry, Dr. Link was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Gust Bardy, M.D. Director since 2001, Dr. Gust Bardy is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington and Director of the Seattle Institute for Cardiac Research (SICR), an organization dedicated to providing state-of-the-art cardiac research services.

Dr. Bardy is a cardiac electrophysiologist with 31 years of experience in implantable defibrillator therapy.  Since its earliest clinical manifestation using epicardial systems, Dr. Bardy has been integral to the evolution of implantable defibrillator therapy.

Dr. Bardy is a founder of Cameron Health, Inc. and conducted much of the early investigative work that formed the foundation for the subcutaneous ICD in its current form.  Dr. Bardy has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles in the field of sudden cardiac death and sudden cardiac death prevention and has over 150 issued U.S. Patents, including index patents on transvenous defibrillation systems, detection algorithms, sensor technology and heuristics.  Furthermore, Dr. Bardy is the primary investigator for the NIH-sponsored Sudden Cardiac Death in Heart Failure Trial (SCD-HeFT) and the Home AED Trial (HAT).
